Musicians on display

I recently created a series of paintings celebrating the release of “Eight,” a CD created to raise money for cancer research. A talented group of eight worcester-area musicians donated their time and talent to record eight songs to help raise money for Team Pam and the UMass Cancer Center. At the CD release party, the paintings were on display at a local restaurant, and then were given to the musicians and the sound engineer as a “thank you” for their generous sharing of their talents.

Art for a cause

I’m in the early stages of creating a fundraiser within a fundraiser… More information to come soon, but here’s a teaser:

Artistic collaboration

We’re getting ready to release a limited edition recording by Without A Net musicians to raise  money for the UMass Memorial Cancer Center at the end of March.

As my contribution to this artistic collaboration, I stamped each sleeve with an image that I carved out of a block of foam. Every person who purchases this CD gets a truly unique artistic creation!

More information coming soon!

Mosaics

Last weekend, I had a wonderful experience attending a mosaic workshop at Snow Farm in Williamsburg, MA. The instructor, Christine Kenneally, was awesome – very patient and knowledgeable. If you’re thinking of trying something new – get your art on at Snow Farm! www.snowfarm.org

Valentinys!

Sometimes, you’ve just gotta have a little fun. These wee paintings on tiny easels are now available at Dandelions in Barre, just in time for Valentine’s Day. SWEET!

Candle Critters

Fun with Fimo clay! These small candle holders look adorable on birthday cakes or cupcakes. Stop by Dandelions in Barre to see them in person!

Wee gnomes

Tiny felted gnomes are now stocked on the shelves of local gift shops, courtesy of Little House! We’ve been busy creating these fun little gift ideas, which are packaged in a small, clear paint can along with a teeny tiny (real!) penny, a lucky stone and a few lucky stars. A perfect stocking stuffer or pick-me-up for someone who needs a smile.

Getting ready!

Fall is in the air, and we all know what that means… it’s a great time to start your holiday shopping! The annual Backroads Studio Tour of Central Mass takes place on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 this year. Little House has just delivered a fresh supply of items like hand-crafted recycled sweater wool mittens and 2018 mini calendars to Dandelions in Barre and the Petersham Art Center for the event. Check it out! Take a drive and enjoy this beautiful season.

Practical art

This summer, I played around with various printing techniques, and hit upon a really cool product–foam printing blocks by Speedball. These soft, spongy rectangles can be carved with linoleum cutters, covered with a thin coat of ink or paint, then pressed onto paper or fabric. The effect is that of a wood cut graphic, but the carving process is much easier because the material is soft and easy to manipulate. Here’s the final product created and being sold in local shops!
